Last Airbender 2 and Last Airbender 3 Details

Last Airbender 2 movieHere is the last news about Last Airbender 2 movie and some details about Last Airbender 3 movie. The Last Airbender, the first movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan, has received poor reviews and grossed only U.S. $ 58 million so far, but that does not stop the director to make plans for a sequel.

In an MTV interview, Shyamalan has revealed he has already written the first script for a sequel to The Last Airbender. "The Last Airbender Part 3 is somewhat ambiguous, but for the 2nd movie I've already written a first scenario and is very pleased... It will be darker and more elaborate" said the director.

M. Night Shyamalan give few details about plans they have with The Last Airbender 2, saying that plans to focus more on secondary characters from the first movie. Azula will be a great antagonist. In fact, Azula is the only character in the whole series really negative said Shyamalan.

The director told what will happen with certain scenes that have fallen at the final cut of The Last Airbender, and will not get any option to be included on the DVD and Blu-ray. "I will not include scenes with Kyoshi warriors, because I intend to keep them for the 2nd movie. Kyoshi scenes are incredible, especially because we spent so much time fighting choreography. "

Despite plans that M. Night Shyamalan has for the sequel to The Last Airbender, Paramount Studios, filmmakers, has not yet announced any plans for the development of franchise. We know that After Earth is his official next movie project who will be released on 7 June 2013.

So until now nothing is sure about Last Airbender 2 or Last Airbender 3 movies. The trailer for Last Airbender 2 will be here as soon as possible.

Really hope the rest of the movies come through....I am not a fan of the anime..but thought the movies was well done.

First movies was really good, for those that didn't like it. Get over yourself and allow the people who liked it a chance get the sequals. I know a lot of people that didn't like the cartoon version but loved the live action movie and can't wait for the sequals

This is a great movie!! cant wait to see more!! Well done, stayed interested all the way through the movie.

Movie was ok, he took the first season of anime and crammed into a 2 hour block which means he skipped a lot of info, didn't think he did a great job as director, if they make sequels, should find better director

I for one loved the movie but it cant beat the original cartoon series!

this abomination of a movie should never of happened they didnt even pronounce the characters names right. the actors didnt know how to act like the characters they were portraying and none of movie followed the guidlines from the original creators at all. there was nothing good about this movie and night is the worst part. they kept earth benders in a prison made of earth??? the fire benders needed a camp fire wherever they went to perform bending. the entire fire nation is apparently Indian? aang is uung for some reason. sokka is suppose to be comedic and corny but instead was a bad twilight character. night had all that he needed to make a good movie and decided to go the opposite direction completely ditching the fans of the series, which is why he made the movie in the first place. for the fans of avatar, literally the reason he made it was because he and his daughter watched it and yet he made whatever you want to call that terrible thing. people look up the second movie in hope that he wont be directing it or better yet that there will be a reboot to clean that terrible slate. the cartoon had a story and character development the movie did not. nothing was portrayed correctly and therefor shouldn't have even taken the title the last airbender. he should have just stayed to himself and his own terrible movies like normal.

The first movie wasnt great. I will have to admit that. He got all their names wrong and the didnt have any martial arts movement they where just swing around and crap. But i will see the next on bc of all that it wasnt that bad for being a live version. But hopefull m-night will fix all that if he is going to make it...

Anonymous said...

Please make another movie! It wasn't as good as the show, but hopefully the next one will be better just space out the story and make tge film longer. And work onthe character development. Still, please please please make it!!

I agree that in the first movie the story was crammed into the 2 hours but the other movies have to be finished. I loved the anime and the movie was ok. But to not finish the other movies would be upsetting. If you don't like them don't watch them but for us fans who love the story let us watch and decide for ourselves.

Anonymous said...

I would of rather watched a 4hr movie explaining alot more than the crammed movie they came out with but it was cool. I hope the next movie are better at explaining whats goin on... Ppl that didnt really didnt watch the cartoon would probably b lost watchn the first one

Anonymous said...

Yeah I'm sorry but the movie was HORRID!!!!!!!! I mean I had to go back and watch the cartoon series just to get that horrible mess out my head!!!! Like what has already been stated the actors didn't stay true to the character they were playing except for maybe Noah who played Aang Not Uung, there was NOTHING funny about sokka!!! And I'm not even going to get into the so called only water Bender in here tribe can you say HORRIBLE JUST HORRIBLE!!!!!! . NO disrespect to the actors they had a horrible director!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I liked the movie very much me and my kids love the anime version and are waiting for the second party and third and forth if they make them

Anonymous said...

3 things:1. good effects, horrible acting (aside from zuko) 2. A whole season into a 1hr 30min movie? Really come on...where's the detail! 3. My 1yr old niece can direct better than that tool...I vote a remake done by peter Jackson

Anonymous said...

Theyre out of their minds. If he couldn't handle "flying to the north pole" how is he going to handle Azula, the dai lee, zuckos redemption and betrayal and most importantly the growth of the avatar and co? Earth is a great example of character development leading up to a third act showdown. It also deals with refugees and the reality of the war not to mention political espionage. People have successfully condensed less in the past, M Night clearly can't. He should be removed from the project, just to give it a chance

Anonymous said...

They could have made the movie longer ,and not cram it all in an hour and a half. Horrible acting + cannot pronounce the names correctly. The tv series are 1,000 times better.

Dark King said...

I agree totally. I watched the series from beginning to end and he butchered it. The story and the pronunciation of the names are just two things. Not to mention the fire benders. Michael Bay or even the LOR dude should've done the movies

Dark King said...

Thank god...someone agrees with me...now I don't have to say it on here
Avatar has the potential to be a star wars or LOR with the right director. And honestly to cover evrything they should split it into four or more movies. And I agree with you I'm certain that the fire nation are based on the Japanese the air nomads on Buddhist monks the earth kindgom on china and the water tribe on native Americans. I don't remember anyone being white or black in the show. If they do come out with sequals I probably wont even bother to see them unless they change the director

EVERYONE SHOULD STOP COMPARING IT TO TE BOOK. i MEAN GIVE THE GUY A BREAK DO YOU REALLY EXPECT EVERYTHING IN THE BOOK TO FIT INTO A 2 HOUR MOVI. I KNOW I WOULD NOT BE COMFORTABLE WATCHING A MOVIE LONGER THAN 2 I 1/2 HOURS.HE INCLUDED THE PARTS THAT WERE IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR US TO GET THE JEST OF IT. IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE WHEN YOU STICK TO MOVIES BUT IF YOU WAN TO ANALYZE IT AND GET ALL TECHNICAL THAN THATS YOUR PROBLEM. ON THE REAL, THAT MOVIE WAS BAD ASS AND EVEN IF ALL THE DETAILS DIDNT EXACTLY MATCH THE JUNK ANIME VERSION THAN PEOPLE SHOULD JUST LEARN TO USE THIER DAM IMAGINATION CUZ THOSE THAT THOUGHT THIS WAS A TERRIBLE MOVIE ARE COMPARING IT A LITTLE TOO MUCH WITH THE BOOK ALL THESE FOOLS TALKING LIKE THIER 1 YR. OLD NIECES CAN MAKE A BETTER MOVIE..COME ON NOW, IF SHE COULD IM SURE SHE WOULD HAVE DONE IT. I MEAN YOU WERE EXPECTING EVERY PIECE OF DETAIL OR WERE YOU JUST EXPECTING PARTS YOU PERSONALLY PREFERRED.ALL YOU HATERS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE DAM PLANET.HOWS THAT FOR CHANCE. EVER HEARD THE SAYING " SHUT THE F... UP AND GET BACK TO WORK". IF YOU AIN'T CAPABLE OF REALIZING THERE ARE SO MUCH OTHER FACTORS TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN MAKING A MOVIE LIKE THIS AND SEE THAT GIVEN ALL THESE FACTORS THE MOVIE WAS PRETTY GOOD OR NOT AS BAD AS PEOPLE MAKING AND FOR THOSE THAT NEVER EVEN HEARD OF AVATAR BEFORE THE MOVIE WAS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER MOVIE FROM A BOOK FILM. SO SHUT UP

Wow! You must be so delusional. The movie won 5 not 1 BUT 5 GOLDEN RASBERRY AWARDS thats including for WORST PICTURE. (google rasberry awards cause im sure you're an ... and you dont know what it is) I understand you cant fit a whole series in a 105minute movie but ATLEAST make the most crucial important parts of the movie like the cartoon or book. I was pissed when admiral zhao s....ed himself when Iroh created fire out of nothing. No s..t they create fire! F... the dude was a firebender and didnt know he could create it. If they come out with a part 2 and 3, im going to wait till it comes out on REDBOX or when they have it in the BARGAIN BIN at the gas station. "I'll buy that for a dollar"

As somebody who hasn't watched the cartoon, the movie was good.

You would think fanboys would show some support to at least get the other movies made.

Bunch of haters here. Surprised the posters here aren't b!tching about the shade of red they used for the fire nation.

Jsmith said...

the movie was ok... but given the story they had to work with, and the special effects that could/should of been used... the movie was very disappointing. I really hope they do another though, and learn from the first. The "Avatar" has the ability to be another 'lord of the rings' box office hit. Watch the cartoon and imagine, with the right resources, how incredible it could be. The 3rd 'book' would be unbelievable great if done right!

Anonymous said...

i agree that the movie was a piece of crap compared to the series. i agree that there was little, at best, similarity in character development and plot. i agree that the acting almost all around was awful (except for a few, mainly fire nation actors) and the names should have been left alone. i hate m-knight suck for thinking his interpretation was what all the loyal fans wanted to hear/see. i dont understand why/how m-knight suck is still asked to direct movies. the fire nation should have obviously been japanese (not indian), earth kingdom should have been a mix, chinese and indian, etc. the fighting/martial arts were sub-par.
on the whole, i did not hate the movie and i am excited for the next two. hopefully either they get rid of m-knight suck or he steps his game up (which prolly wont happen). maybe watch the tv series and appreciate the underlying themes a bit more, rather than make up his own. maybe m-knight suck should collaborate with the original writers a bit more.

This movie was great! If more would have saw it, I think they would have said the same thing. Its a different time frame as now. I think that the movie would succeed. Please, director finish your sequel and do it from your heart and passion. Got with your gut!

People have stopped liking the fighting and chinese movies its a thing of the past because people are so hooked up on watching the same BS as always. storylines dont change HOWEVER the last airbender was a great movie great concept. Effects could be elaborated I personally didnt care but i think this would interest the viewers (We all love transformers) As for the director he did a good job to me! he just maybe needs to be stricter Thats all. love it and waiting for sequels cartoon is kinda boring....

I loved the series and yes I did have some problems with the movie but I still thought it was good I am a huge fan of avatar and I have watched the series many times I think the movie could have been better and more like the series but I still would love and I am waiting for the next movies to come out so pleaaaassse make them :)

Anonymous said...

Couldn't agree more!!!

Anonymous said...

The 1st movie was great, nuff said. The series is just that, a series, and as such it would be impossible to capture it all even in a 4 part movie. I think the 1st movie did a great job of not only introducing the characters but all so setting the scene for the up coming movies. For those that truly know the cartoon version, I would think that you would understand how the movie left you anticipating more, and not being upset because of what wasn't included. Short of the 1st movie being 3-4 hours long, it's just impossible to include as much as most would have liked. If part 2 lacks luster then would be time to complain.

If theres going to be one about Korra i'm heaing to mars

Anonymous said...

To the people telling the "haters" to "get over themselves", you get over YOURSELF. You weren't even a fan until this crap was made, so you don't even know what you're talking about. Without us watching and praising the series, you wouldn't have even GOTTEN your beloved movie! It's not just the fact that they crammed everything into two hours, it's the fact that they did it in a half-assed manner and completely ruined the personality of the characters. Aang is not serious all the damn time and neither is Sokka. They sucked the life right out of this movie.

This is AN ADAPTATION. When something is adapted (that is, based on) something else that has not only been critically acclaimed, but Emmy nominated, you should probably follow what came before. That's the point of it being called an ADAPTATION. They could have made "The Last Airbender: Book One Part 1 and Book One Part 2" and covered everything, but he didn't...because they wanted to half-ass it.

I understand some of you don't want deep storylines or complicated character structure and instead want to go into the movies and just...not think for a few hours, but there are already PLENTY of movies for that. They didn't need to ruin an existing property for you to get something that you could have gotten from watching another generic action movie.

I liked the movie but I think they did too much movement in order to move the elements. If it were simple like the cartoon it would have been better

Anonymous said...

I have never seen the anime or read the books, so I can't compare it. I did like the movie a lot and hope a second part comes out soon.
I like details and sometimes go overboard with them. I am not good in compressing things, So I admire people who have the talent to do so.
I do like to read and I probably going to get me the books, so I know what you all are talking about and I want to know how the story ends.

THE MOVIE SUCKED! None of the actors captured the characters personalities, plus the name pronunciation was wrong on a few characters, and the bending itself looked stiff. I am not against them making a sequel to the movie, just fix the mistakes. Anybody that says the movie was great is obviously not a true fan and knows nothing about the series

Man, the first movie was horrible! I think someone should energy bend Shyamalan's directing abilities. I didn't expect the film to be exactly like the show. I understand the task in taking a whole season and breaking it down into two hours, but what in the world M. Knight?!

You changed the names, you got firebending all wrong, it was a floating prison and where was Roku?! He did a poor job at directing his cast. It's like they all studied the scripts like a test and the filming was a final exam. HORRIBLE!

If Nickelodeon cares ANYTHING about their reputation and the success of this show, they will NOT green light any further movies directed by M. Knight!

Anonymous said...

Im a big time Avatar fan, and I love Korra. The scenes, the scripts its a beautiful artful masterpiece.

What happened to the first movie was pretty sad. It has been long known that the fans did not approve. The movie strips Ang of all his personality which frankly is the heart of the show so many people of diverse ages love.

Why wouldnt they cast a child from a real Shaolin temple or training camp in China? It was just absurd not to make that obvious move. No child in the planet can wield a staff like these kids, and they age very slowly because of their lifestyle. The grown man they used for the film is now 18. How is he supposed to play Ang who is a preteen for the next two movies? Its just going to change the movie fromt he story even more and continue to enrage the fans because of the lack of Ang's immature personality we all want to see.

Katara was supposed to be nothing less than unquestionably beautiful. Nicola is not an ugly person, but we all know this isnt the vision of Katara who in the cartoon had only Princess Yue to contend with, when it came to her beauty. What happened to Katara's hair? That woman is not Katara!

Shaun Toub played Uncle Iroh? That was like teh nail in the coffin. The only man on Earth capable of doing this character justice was Jackie Chan, or Jackie Chan's brother, Sammo Hung.

Though we all know the writers are two white guys, we still would of all loved to see all the characters as Asian, they way we perceive them in the cartoon.

How will Knight deal with these issues? He can't the cast has already been set. There is no talk of sequels because ... it's over. They have to wait 5 to 10 years to redo the whole thing, like Spiderman.

I hope China picks this up, because it's not going well. Knight can't do it, he checkmated himself.

For people who actually followed the series and are incredible fans... I actually caught the first episode and every episode there after and loved experiencing the story as it grew even mre twisted and amazing! But!!!!! M shamalan really f*d it up! The miss pronounciation was bad! Uncle hyro skinny? Come on thats the thrillin part when he escapes fire nation prison!!! Katarra didnt have to kick water master ass?!?! Wtf! Legend if korra was pretty intense but nothing!!! Nothing compared to aang and his awesome team off adolesence! Shamalan.... Please dont ruin this again!!! Movie could have been fantastic! But i had a buffet afterwards! And cried a little at how poorly portrayed my phenomenal cartoo( and im a grown up!lol) please understand this is serious!

i liked the first film. can not wait for the next 2 installments. but really wondering why people say crap like i never got the characters relationship in the movie like the anime...they do realize the anime.. was a full series and the movie only 2 hours... what you guys want kids having a heart to heart every 5 mins or the great action it promised... me i choose action.. i got what i wanted... the rest of you might want to check out a walk amongst the clouds...it seems more your style.

REALLY. REALLY. That was the most horrible movie EVER MADE. It's truly atrocious. Give it up, you guys. I hope nobody ever allows Shamalan to go anywhere near such an amazing series ever again.

To anonymous, your view is a bit irrational, saying, "those that didn't like the cartoon, liked the movie." Without the cartoon there would be, "no," movie. Those who enjoy watching amercan/japanese anime, we are," hooked," the characters and plots, well, that's why we watch....

I don't watch the cartoon anni me but my daughters is s big fan but we enjoyed the movie. A lot of ppl on here are saying its not as good as the cartoon series they left this out they didn't do this but if you look at it this way when a movie is made from a book its never exact its always a bit different I enjoyed the movie and can't wait for the sequel

Anonymous said...

To be quite honest if the movies was made first people would be saying the opposite they would complain that the tv show changed this and changed that. That would be okay because that is there opinion. I don't know anyone who does not have their own opinion as an individual. I thought it was brilliant for m.night to make aang more serious I mean he is supposed to be a savior not someone who jokes and is silly. Of course he is a young boy but being young does not mean you have to be super silly. I love the show it is more child friendly and i also love the movie which is more of an adult version. M.night's interpretation/ opinions for the movie were spot on to capture and older audience. People who don't like it need to get a life. And to end it just like the first season of the show was cute. I like that he made the first solely on developing the second skill water. That was smart to do! I could go on but imma atop there :-)

I remember walking in to the movie theatre excited as can be to watch The Last Airbender, and I can say when the movie ended me and everyone else in the theatre hated it! It made me sick how he took the characters and story and changed everything. I actually want to see the second movie because all the girls are coming into the picture. (Ty lee, Mai, Azula, and Toph) They made the show more exciting. Just fix the problems is that so much to ask for?

I think that the movie was ok at first but after reading all the comment on this site I can agree with some of the problems in the movie I. Think that Jackey Chin would be good for the movie and maybe Will Smith can help direct the the next movies because he did so well with kartate kid!!!! I also have to agree with the fact that there should have been more Chinese actors in the movie. When I listen to has interview he said he want to put people from all over the world but all I saw was BOLLYWOOD !!!!!!!!!! THERE !!!!!!! I am a fan of the cartoon and I think that it I was unfair for them to put mostly indian In the movie this is a movies about how the whole world !!!!!! There was ONLY 1 BLACK ACTOR In the movie and he did not speek a word and in the cartoon the avatar alway talk about his teacher and what he said!!! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT YOU PUT ALL RACES IN THE MOVIE WHEN THE BLACK MAN HAD NO LINES!!!! You my speeck good American English but your only intent was to hire people from your own races!!!! This is why there was so many Indians in this movie!!!!!! VERY PERSON on this site that say there is nothing wrong with this movies has CURRY ON THE STOVE AND BOLLYWOOD ON REPLAY!!!!!!! THIS HOLLYWOOD !!!!!!!!!! WE AMERICAN !!!!! YOU CAN change these
MISTAKE by be true to your self about how you made this movies !!!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE MELTING POT OF THE WORLD AND THAT IS WHY WE AS AMERICANS DIDN'T RELATE TO THIS MOVIE DUE TO THE LACK MANY DIFFERENT BACKROUNDS!!!!!!!!
Which is played in the cartoon!!!

Personally, I really enjoyed the movie and am looking forward to the sequels.

For those of you who are complaining about the movie not being exactly like the animated series.......GET OVER IT! NO book or series can be condensed into an hour and a half movie while still maintaining the exact same plot and covering the same amount of detail as the original. Anyone who can't understand that, or who wants it to be exactly like the series needs to go back to the Nickelodeon channel and watch the damn cartoon version! My son used to watch the animated series, and while I thought it was good, I like that Shymalan toned down the "kiddie factor" and made it more enjoyable for us ADULTS!

And to everyone complaining about the mis-pronunciation of the character's names and the bad acting.....maybe some of you need to pay more attention to your own horrible spelling and grammar. If you're going to critique others, you should at least do so in a manner that doesn't make you look like complete MORONS!

Why the hell would anyone want to see a second movie especially with this director. It should just be rebooted like other movies have been. It barely followed the story. Just to begin with, the way Aang (not Uung) was found was totally different from the anime. Lastly the scene where Aang defends the Northern Water Tribe City, was totally wrong as well. How the hell do you fuck that up. Reboot with different director not sequels.

Anonymous said...

This time make sure the damn characters say the names right and that the Firebenders don't "need" fire to be around to firebend. They can make fire all by themselves to start with, that's why they are FIREBENDERS! Whoever comment about "The Last Airbender" having potential of being the next "Harry Potter" or "Lord of the Rings" I agree with you. Just have to make sure the movie is done right. Just like Harry Potter, the movies actually follow most the book actually. Just don't see how whatever his name is fucked it up so bad.

Anonymous said...

Some gregarious eerie in interpretation were made when if comes to the fans... I understand the idea of using old world ethnicities...as the ideals and philosophy of their histories keep within similar themes as the nations in the cartoon....But changing the pronunciation? Changing the make-up of the characters personalities? It does not fit.
...the story is started with these errors....let's just hope that they don't continue and are fleshed out better in any movies going forward. If they happen, that is.

ms Lisa said...

Who cares about the anime? the original movie, in itself, was phenominal. The talent displayed is such a "gift", it would be a shame not to be given. TLA2 must be made, before Aang gets much older and the story is lost. The fire nation has 3 yrs before the commit arrives. It would be awkward to see a 26 yr old. Aang, wouldn't it?

Um, Just saw the movie and boy, did it SUCK!!!!!! Oh my God, what a stinker? THAT was an awful bit of movie making and a total waste of celluloid, actors and special effects. Bad directing, crappy dialogue and who the hell is "Uung?" Had the director even seen the series? It's a shame he made money utilizing the name of the series when what it represented was actually nowhere on the screen. And while it is not always possible to consolidate significant aspects of a series into a 2hr movie, this director seemed to know that there would be sequels so there was room to do this so much better. It just seemed like an excuse for someone to use their expensive computer's "special effects button", and that's a poor excuse for altering someone else's hard work. For the sequel, he should just put together some more pretty fire/water/wind special effects and call it "Twilight, part 4". No one who liked this 2hr waste of time will be able to tell the difference.
